The Arab Education Forum is searching for a new visual brand and design for Hakaya project. Since Hakaya is a community-based Pan-Mediterranean project, this call is open to graphic designers and artists from countries around the Mediterranean to reach creative and innovative ideas.

General conditions:

This call is for the design of the visual identity of Hakaya in terms of: general design, colors, font type and size, as well as the way content is displayed in the various publications and project website. Therefore, designers can submit sample designs for the web home page, logo, Poster, or Flyer, to clarify their vision on the visual identity of the project, taking into account the following considerations:

• Submitted designs should be original and made only for Hakaya with a statement to this effect accompanying the submission.
• The designer/artist will not submit the design to any other party until a decision has been made by the committee. If the artist does not receive any notification within two months of the submission deadline he/she will be free to use the design for other purposes.
• The design needs to be simple, easy to apply, and cost effective.
• The designer has the right to submit more than one design suggestion.
• Participants are allowed to use any type of design technique or material from the plastic or graphic arts media, as long as they are computer based.
• Text used can be Arabic and/or English and/or French.
• Participants are invited to submit two versions of the design: one in PSD format and one in JPG format.
•  Submissions should be sent via e-mail to: info@hakaya.org along with the designer’s CV and a summary of the intellectual and/ or artistic vision behind the design and its relation to the project.

 All designs submitted will be reviewed by a committee selected by the Arab Education Forum (AEF).  The AEF has the right to introduce amendments to the design or use parts of the design as advised by the committee

Shortlisted submissions will be asked to provide a copy of high quality (DVD) to be delivered once selected, using one of the following programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, PSD, JPG, or Outline.

The selected submission(s) will receive financial compensation commensurate with the design requirements/selections made by Hakaya management. This will be subject to a contract to be signed by both parties.

 The deadline for submissions is extended to 10/4/2010.

All participants will be informed in writing of the selection results
