A Pebble by the Sea (Documentary film)
“Storytelling is estimated to be one of the oldest human art forms. This old art form is like a pebble by the shore: polished smooth by the sea.” Jihad Darwish, Lebanese storyteller.
Inspired by folk tales, our daily stories, and our oral history, we decided to re-visit storytelling once again, with a view to taking the pebbles back to the sea to ensure the continuous flow of stories smoothed by the tides of time. This film tells the story of "Hakaya”, a dialogue and common action towards reclaiming the centrality of stories in learning, art, and life in the Arab world and across the Mediterranean.
