Craft a Personal Narrative – Day Workshop by Sita Brand
We all have a story to tell. Since the beginning of humanity, we have told stories to entertain, teach, pass on wisdom, record history, represent beliefs, explore new ideas, share experiences, build community, and express creativity. During this immersive workshop, you will use a range of creative tools and techniques to share stories from your own experience. You will learn how to craft a narrative in such a way that people will want to listen to you.
Sita has told stories for 30 years. Born and raised in Bombay she has traveled the world. From temples in Thailand as a Buddhist nun, to walking through a field of landmines in Laos she has a story to tell. After a career in theater as a Director, Producer, Literary Manager and Performer she settled in the Yorkshire Dales for a quiet life. But ended up establishing Settle Stories to change the world through story, www.settlestories.org.uk. She draws on a range of performance techniques including Philippe Gaulier, Stanislavsky and actioning in her work. She wrote and toured ‘Memories of an Indian Childhood.”
